Conversion
Any meaningful action a visitor takes that moves them closer to becoming a paying customer.
Definition
A conversion is the moment a website visitor stops being a passive browser and does something you care about: fills out a contact form, calls your phone number, books an appointment, downloads a guide, starts a chat, or completes a purchase. Conversions are the only marketing metric that actually pays the bills, so every other number (traffic, impressions, clicks) only matters if it eventually produces them. The first step in any real marketing program is defining your conversions clearly and tracking them properly in GA4 and Google Ads. Without that, you cannot calculate cost per lead, ROAS, or anything that matters. We set this up for every client. See pricing.
Why it matters in Miami
For most Miami small businesses, the meaningful conversion is a phone call in Spanish, not a form submit, because the Hispanic market still prefers to call. Tracking that call as a conversion (via call-tracking or GTM) is what turns marketing from guesswork into a real measurable system.
Example
A Kendall immigration lawyer defines "booked consult" as her only conversion, ignoring vanity metrics, and uses that single number to grade every ad campaign.
