INP (Interaction to Next Paint)
Google's newest speed metric that measures how responsive your site feels across every tap, click, and keypress.
Definition
INP, or Interaction to Next Paint, replaced FID as a Core Web Vital in March 2024. Unlike FID, which only looked at the first interaction, INP measures the slowest response across the entire visit, giving a more honest picture of how snappy your site feels in real use. Good INP is under 200 milliseconds. Bad INP usually traces to heavy JavaScript, third-party widgets, or animations that block the main thread. Improving INP makes your site feel native-app smooth and earns Google ranking credit. If your site lags on taps, a rebuild pays for itself fast. See pricing.
Why it matters in Miami
Miami e-commerce sites with bilingual switchers, currency converters, and live chat often blow past INP thresholds. Lean code matters extra when your audience expects instant Spanish-to-English toggling.
Example
A Wynwood gallery's online store had a 480ms INP because of a heavy product filter; rewriting it in lightweight JavaScript dropped INP to 140ms and add-to-cart rates rose 18%.
