Domain Authority (DA)

A 0-100 score from Moz that predicts how likely your whole website is to rank in Google.

Definition

Domain Authority, or DA, is a score from 0 to 100 created by the SEO tool Moz that estimates how strong your entire domain is in search. It's based mostly on the quantity and quality of backlinks pointing to your site. Important caveat — DA is not a Google metric. Google doesn't use this number; it's a third-party estimate. But it's still useful as a benchmark to compare yourself against competitors and to track progress over months. New small-business sites usually start in single digits and climb slowly. Don't obsess over it, but watch the trend. Build authority at /pricing.php.

Why it matters in Miami

Most Miami small-business sites sit at DA 5-15 — beating a competitor at DA 20 is very doable in 6-12 months with consistent content and local backlinks.

Example

A Coral Gables boutique law firm at DA 8 sees a competitor at DA 25 and realizes the gap is mostly press mentions — so they start pitching local journalists.
