Above the fold

The part of your website a visitor sees before scrolling — the most valuable real estate on any page.

Definition

Above the fold is the section of your website that appears on screen the moment someone lands on the page — before they scroll. The name comes from old newspapers, where the most important story sat above the physical fold so people would buy the paper at the stand. On a website, this space decides whether a visitor stays or bounces in three seconds. It should clearly answer who you are, what you do, and what to do next (book, call, quote). A weak above-the-fold area kills conversions no matter how good the rest of the site is. See our build approach at /pricing.php.

Why it matters in Miami

Miami visitors often arrive from a Google search on a phone while driving or between appointments — if your above-the-fold doesn't show your service, neighborhood, and phone number in English or Spanish instantly, they're gone. Bilingual hero sections matter especially in Hialeah, Doral, and Kendall.

Example

A Brickell dental clinic puts "Same-Day Emergency Dentist in Brickell — Se Habla Español" with a tap-to-call button above the fold, lifting calls 40% versus the old generic banner.
