Featured snippet

The boxed answer Google shows above the regular results, pulled directly from a webpage.

Definition

A featured snippet is the answer box that appears at the very top of Google — sometimes called 'position zero.' Google grabs a paragraph, list, or table from a website it trusts and shows it before the blue links. Winning the snippet means you get a huge chunk of attention even when you're not technically ranked #1. You earn snippets by answering a specific question clearly in 40-60 words, using a real H2 with the question, and structuring lists or steps so Google can lift them cleanly. Content audits on /pricing.php.

Why it matters in Miami

Miami service businesses (HVAC, plumbers, attorneys) compete for snippet questions like 'how much does AC repair cost in Miami' — winning the box puts you ahead of national directories like Yelp and Angi for free.

Example

A Kendall AC company added a short FAQ section answering 'How often should I service my AC in South Florida?' in 52 words. Within three weeks they owned the featured snippet and tripled organic calls.
